When its crunch time, I tend to get a little aggressive… OK a LOT aggressive. Its tough when you are so passionate about accomplishing a goal, but you need the help of others to aid you in completing the task at hand.
So, how do you get others to be on the same page as you are, without coming off like a complete jerk?
Well, I for one shoot to inspire others by bringing a sense of urgency to the table. We all individually have our own projects that we work on and sometimes don’t feel motivated by what another person is working on.
We talk about support daily, but when it really comes down to it, I’ve found that in business, a lot of it is talk and politics. So I have to constantly be in a partners face to stay on their radar. I stress the importance of not losing. You see, if I lose, you lose too. You aren’t a loser right?
No way, we are winners. You are a winner because you are choosing to work with me. Together, we can conquer the territory and be spoiled with victories and riches.
Working for corporations can be filled with disappointment if you depend on anyone beside yourself. At the end of the day, your buddy that wants to go to all the free lunches and happy hours and not focus as much on what they were hired to do, does not pay your light bill or your mortgage.
It is up to you as an individual to lead your charge. Recruit your team and make sure they are handling their responsibilities in the process. It’s a tedious task that can be frustrating. But if you want to win, you won’t let anyone that’s around you have a loser mentality.
I refuse to lose, and that attitude is adored by few and hated by many. My ilk is a rare breed and the few who admire my winning mentality are winners themselves.
